Stoke are really well supported for a club of their size. It's been a struggle for smaller clubs as of late, so they're probably doing what they can to ensure long-term support.

Phil Dowd seems to have lost weight for the season ahead. Don't think this will make him any better though. His problem lies primarily with his attitude and the weight loss will probably just inflate his bloated ego.

If the quality of the refereeing decisions remain the same then who cares? If he improves his decisions because he is fitter then I agree with Tim.

He might be able to keep up with games better now that he's no longer obese, if he actually sees what's happening at close range he mah have a better chance of getting decisions correct.

And in that case he should always have been at optimum level fitness wise. Ref decisions cost goals, wins, trophies and relegation.

fuck that, he has no personal pride or professional pride. he probably was threatened by the premier league that if he didn't lose the weight he would be fired or some shit. i can't believe they allow people like him to waddle around the pitch in the first place. if he actually passed the fitness tests looking like that then they need better standards.
