Have you got Fox sports/Espn Burnsy?

How is this going to be upheld? Pirate Bay is still up and running, as popular as ever.

The providers in england block it at source, so over here you have to access the site through a proxy or using an extension.

This, for instance, is what I see if I turn off the unblocker:

I just go to 'come.in' to access those torrent sites. It's so easy to work around that you wonder why they bother.

Discourages some users, and makes it easier to make a list of others who have demonstrably done something illegal at some later time.

Does it really discourage? I'd imagine the sort of folk who go on these sites in the first place would be able to find a way around these things fairly easily. With Torrents they've been trying to stop it for over a decade but it's user base continues to grow.

The PL have a massive advantage in that most people don't really want to sit infront of a PC and watch their team on a crappy stream, except for those who'd be unable to afford Sky anyway. I don't really see why they care about the 3pm kick offs. I really don't think it harms their profits much at all.

I don't get the point of it because it is so easy to bypass it.

Some people get spooked about shit like this. That's why they occasionally prosecute some poor schmuck pirate.

Sky TV in NZ has recently lost the rights to the premier league (ie, they got outbid when it came up for renewal) to an internet startup so our coverage this season will be 100% online. $150NZ (about £75) for the whole season which is every single game live and most games available on-demand (the current figure is 250 out of 380 and they're apprently working on securing more, it's not clear why they can't all be available on-demand aswell since they have them all live). Looks an amazing deal on price compared to what I've had to pay for all the other crap on Sky just to get Sky Sports. Still unsure on the quality of streams though and whether the crap broadband in this country can handle it.

That's great, I'd love to have that option too.

Indeed. We've been getting every game on Sky (although not all live obviously as there's not enough sports channels) but I pay about $80NZ per month with all the Sky stuff I have to pay for in order to get sport compared to now $150NZ for the entire season. Some ISPs are coming up with deals. A couple have announced it will be unmetred (we have relatively small monthly bandwidth caps here compared to overseas) while one has done a deal with the rights holder where all new customers will get the full season package free. In a good piece of timing my 12 month contract with my ISP ends on 8th August so just waiting to see whether they'll offer anything before deciding to switch.

They've also done a deal with a free to air network who will get 1 delayed game per week plus the highlights show, presumably to keep the premier league happy that at least something is on terrestrial TV

Looks like I am getting a bargain for my TV deal then. 38SGD per month, with all 10 games per week live in HD and 5 other footballing channels showing all the other european leagues, with 3 sports channels showing any other major sports and 1 channel showing 24 hour live sports news.

And we complain its too expensive 😆

Did you miss the bit where Invis's deal is 150NZD for the whole fricking season? 🙂

They do that in Ireland too but you can just type in the IP address instead and it works.

Doesn't bother me though I use a VPN.

And speaking of TV deals the whole thing with BT now makes it way too expensive to legally pay for the football. I did for the last few years but I'm paying for streaming anyway (to get non-televised games) so why bother with the extra?

And RTE have lost the rights to the highlights, which was great because MOTD is on too late, when I'd be out but the RTE one was at around 7pm, perfect way to start a Saturday night.

Brother with full Sky package, Sky Go plus an X box is the way to go.

BT is 'free' if you have a phone line with them.

I cant stand streaming sports anyway, does my head in it's so frustrating.

Have BT got a lot of games?

Eh? I did miss it, I thought it was per month 😆

38 games, which is 15 more than ESPN had. Sky have something like 115.

Papiss Cisse has been fined for refusing to wear club sponsor Wonga. Initial fine £5000, rising to £45,795,896 if not paid by Sunday.

😆 Understandable because it does sound amazingly cheap doesn't it? They also have a $240 "premium" package which includes highlights and several review/preview/analysis shows per week, whereas the $150 deal is just the games. There's also a $25 one day pass.

Thought you needed BT Broadband to get it free?

You had me all excited there for a minute!

This pic cracked me up, the caption possibilities are endless 😆

You absolute cunt. Think i'll be paying near 100 when BT starts next month.

Can't stand streams anymore so had to turn to sky.

100pound is equivalent to almost 200 SGD 😮.

Does sky allow you to watch any match you want every week for that amount? If so then at least its not too bad.

Nope. You get 3 games over the weekend, the early game (though think its switching to the later game this season) on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. To get BT in Ireland, i'll need Setanta - BT will show me an early or late game on Saturday while Setanta will show one of the 3 o clock kick offs which i don't think you can get in Britain.

Annoyingly BT just seems to be taking ESPN's games pretty much, which i was getting free with sky's sports package anyway so basically i'll be paying for new channels which has robbed all the good stuff off a channel i already have with crappy Setanta thrown in which has usually a poor enough Saturday game and fuck all else on.

At the very least i hope it will mean more European games on ESPN or something. Sky show Spanish football while ESPN show Italian football mostly with a bit of German and French too.

Christ its complicated.

We get ripped off massively. I pay £70 for my Sky, not gonna bother with the BT bullshit.

That's without the sports, movies and arts package innit Tim

Cancel down and just watch the ten minute free views mate. Use a bit of imagination

Means if they ain't showing Arsenal you still got to rely on shit streams even if you are paying so much for those subscriptions?

Nah, go pub.

My £70 is for basic package and sports and phone line. Broadband is on top of that, not sure how much that is.

Yeah, that's the most likely scenario. He got a pay rise and a release clause and promised to stay at Villa for one or two more seasons. Now, it is up to him to continue to impress in order to tempt any richer club to activate that release club next year.

Can see him going to Spurs after they sell Bale.

That noise that you make from the back of your throat.
