Im really skeptical about this. Doesnt seem to fit our technical game at all. Only if Wenger really sees him as Diaby replacement, but is he? Price seems about right though, he is proven in PL and right age.

We have guys like Giroud, Walcott, and Sagna starting regularly for us. Fellaini wouldn't be out of place.

They play in positions where it is not first priority though. And Giroud is not Sagna or Walcott level bad on technique.

Neither is Fellaini. He certainly isn't Xavi but donkey, he is not.

Fellaini is fine technically, on par with or better than Ramsey at least and he has been good in the midfield.

There's nothing wrong with Fellaini's technique. (edit: beaten to it)

One thing's for sure, if we signed him it'd surely put an end to seemingly every pundit's favourite line: "Arsenal lack that little bit of nastiness they used to have when they were successful." The guy makes a ridiculous number of fouls and he isn't shy to use an elbow or two. Or, you know, throw in the odd headbutt here or there.

I guess it would be like having Song back.

He's a pest and a menace, I mean that as a compliment for the most part.
Could do without him getting suspended regularly.

Would be a great start.

could play a muller style role; not a typical AM, but the engine to close down opponents high up the pitch, get on the end of crosses, win high balls, and lay the ball off to our creative players. teams don't really park the bus against us much anymore, so he won't face alot of that.

Sealed the deal when he elbowed cunt boy Shawcross. Should have met his buy out there and then.

I would be very happy with this signing, but definitely needs to be freed up to get forward and make himself a nuisance. If we do get him I'll be interested to see what sort of football we look to play next season. Playing against Ramsey and Fellaini in midfield would be a right pain for any team.

Would love to have him, but if he's leaving Everton then surely Moyes will want him, won't he?

The more i think about it the more i think this signing could be excellent. He'll add a few obvious things we lack in midfield but my only concern is the cost. If we get him and then a bunch of other average shits i won't be happy. If we sign a bunch of good players in addition to him i wouldn't care about the price tag.

We could use him in a forward role as a plan b, but it really baffles me why most people seem to think he's an average DM/CM, do they only notice him when he scores?

I have seen him put in MOTM performances against top teams in the holding role: 2009/2010 gainst us with a Rosicky late equaliser, last season at the Emirates, against City etc etc

He's an absolute nightmare to play against, it's like having extra 3 players patrolling that zone, he's everywhere. He reminds me of Javi Martinez defensively, I may be overrating Felaini here but overall I think he's on a similar level; the Spaniard is the better passer, but Fellaini is more skilful and they are about the same defensively IMO.

Get the deal done Arsene.

Which is the best between that elbow, van persie's headshot or terry's ko?

He's not going to play behind the striker, stop being ridiculous people.

IF he does sign (which he probably won't) it wouldn't make any sense playing him anywhere other than Ramsey's role as a box-to-box who can go towards goal occasionally, with Mikel holding. I think he's a great player and I'd be very happy to have him.

Actually, he's more of a defensive midfielder than an offensive one. Everton just need him badly in their attack so they have had to utilize his offensive skills. He prefers to play much deeper and defensive, and for a team that could let him play like that, he would be even better than he is now.

I don't get fans who say they want a player, but only if the price is lower than X. Everybody knows that if Wenger is willing to pay 15 million, but it isn't enough, he doesn't buy some other 15 million player just because he has the money. I rather want us to spend a little too much on someone than not buy anyone.

Amen, Jack

It's easy enough to understand. In the transfer window we all imagine that we're the manager, and what we would do if we were.

Our imagination bounds possibility; our reason, probability. The gulf between the two is our malaise.

Box to box. Guessing he would compete with Ramsey for the CM position.

Get the big afro, Higgy and Jovy and destroy the league next season.
