Why would Ivanovic want to come to Arsenal and, more importantly, why would Chelski want to sell him?

Ivanovic had a pretty poor season last year and wasn't great the one before. Looks on the way down.

My questions still stand.

Quite; I wasn't contradicting you.

A more pertinent question is, why would Arsenal sign Ivanovic?

Played centre half mainly last year didn't he? Think he's much better at right back. Although he's not much of an upgrade on Sagna going forwards or on the ball.

Sagna is much better. IMO.

Get a new promising CB in like Marquinhos, Inigo Martinez, de Vrij or just promote Miquel, he deserve a chance.

Signing Marquinhos would require us breaking our transfer record and then some.

Just can't imagine Wenger being interested. Such an unArsene like player.

Actually he is exactly the type of midfielder Arsene likes IMO. With a history of players like Vieira, Toure, Edu, Diaby, Song.

The only thing he seems to have in common with some of them is height. Diaby and Vieira are completely different, for example. Plus the latest of those players - Diaby - was signed 7 years ago. A lot has changed in his typical transfer targets since then.

But the longer the links continue I guess there could be little bit exceptional interest.

Height, stamina, strength and aggression with technique. They aren't like for like but they're similar. Regardless of when he signed Diaby or whoever that type of player is very much arsene-like.

Can also see wenger going for a player that offers something different

The wrong player for us imo. Too cumbersome, won't suit a pressing game. Not exactly a great passer either.

He has obvious strengths though, but an Arteta - Fellaini midfield is far too pedestrian. Ramsey's pressing and energy was so important in our run in and I can't see him being dropped.

Just can't see this one happening. He is NOT worth >£20 million.

It would be quite exciting if it did happen just cause of the sort of player he is, but look past the hair and the frame, he is not the player we need in there imo.

Gundogan (never going to happen) or a Bender far better fits.

Fellaini would be an automatic starter for us. I'll take that. Why should we care if he costs £23m btw?

I can't for the life of me see what Gündogan would add to our midfield.
