Nothing wrong with the club buying talented youngsters for relative peanuts. It is wrong banking on them being immediate hits though.
Yaya Sanogo

This shouldn't need to be repeated, but it's true.
Nothing wrong with it, I just don't really have time or interest in any of them until they get around to looking ready for the first team, which most never do.
Low risk, high reward. I like it. Also he looks to be a real talent when healthy.

In fairness to this chap, from the sounds of it he's a lot closer to being relevant than Sunu ever was.
By that I mean when you sign a player at 20 with competitive experience, it's a lot less of a punt in general than a 16 year old with none.

Totally agree. Tall, rangy, fast, a finisher; Ade mk 2. A specimen as well, looks like he could easily dunk a basketball.
That is always handy in football I guess.
He's probably better than Sunu, but at Sanogo's age he was at least laying in Ligue 1
yaya's a no go. great.
Pretty much confirmed barring Wenger changing his mind after the photoshoot.
Everyone will be shocked and dissapointed if that happens.

I am pleased to be following in the footsteps of Abou Diaby who came through from Auxerre.
I hope, he doesn't literally follow Diaby into our medical ward.
Many similarities here - both the players are tall and physically strong. Both have looked good whenever they have had a run of games only to get injured again for long periods.

It would present him the best opportunity ever to use that pun though.
Genius.

We all start out as children.
Indeed Tim.

I like the way they finish the article with
Are you confident he will pass the medical?
As if we have something other than past injury horror information about him
Tim ?
Yeah?
You two could be posting twins
Don't paint the devil on the wall.

Yeah, but, the probability of that is one.
As opposed to the probability of someone claiming the wish to follow a particular player having the exact attributes why that player is rubbish and also sharing some of the key good attributes.
Does anyone know how big a compensation fee has to be paid to Auxerre for this transfer?
If we assume Auxerre to be a cat.1 club (I can't be arsed looking it up), it is 630k euros.
So about £540k.
Actually, I fucked that up.
It will be 480k euros, so about £410k.
Cheers Captain. Hopefully he can overcome his injury problems and fulfill his potential with us.
... so we can then sell him to a petro club for £25m.
Looks an interesting prospect this guy. He's all skin and bone at the moment - when he beefs out a bit he's gonna be tank.

Anelka mk2? I'll take it! Even better if we use the money to buy the Henry mk2 out there.
Even better again if he wins us the double like Anelka.
Saw some of his videos. His most impressive attribute is his first touch.

Good to hear.
It must be impressive since his physique is lauded.
He is tall and gangly. I don't think, he'd bully around Premier League defenders with his physique.
In any case, a player who has been in the treatment tables for the best part of two years and someone whose highest level of experience is French League 2 will need time in the Premier League and that too at a club with high expectations.
He is clearly one for the future.
Iloveyouarsenewenger wrote:Saw some of his videos. His most impressive attribute is his first touch.
Decent second touch too by the looks.
He'll go far.
If we get him cheap it'd be great. We don't have an exciting young striker to bring off the bench or play in cups these days so I'm all for it.

Would love to see Akpom next season as well. He looks like he has some promise.
