lol. i need to find a way to stop reading football news after 6pm Sunday. this summer is going to be the craziest yet wrt rumours due to the big managerial changes at Chelsea, Real, Bayern, United and Citeh.

what it also means is that with 5 clubs who have bigger budgets than us changing managers, we are going to struggle to even feast on scraps.

Think it's a positive. It'll mean a lot of movement, which means bargains when clubs get into a tight spot.

It's a lot worse when virtually no top drawer players are looking for a move and therefore there are a host of cashed-up suitors for the few that are.

Consensus among the pundits today seems to be that there are no clubs that want Rooney that will match his £300k/w wages and United's £40m valuation, so he'll run down his contract until his fee is reduced and his wages can be afforded. Sounds likely.

Whats happening to WR is not uncommon in football. Its in some ways similar to what happened with fabregas.

Both excellent players for their club, both on too much wages. Fabregas was never going to be as big at Barca as he was with us. Same for Rooney. No one will want him for 'proper' footballing reasons with that kinda wage and the price being touted.

Unless he takes a wage cut or goes for less than 20 mill or both, he is not gonna be taken seriously. He will be either be a 'marqee' singing or something like that.

Eh? Fabregas' wages were pretty standard. Plus he wanted to go somewhere specific while Rooney just wants to leave. There are no similarities at all.
