not really on board with higuain. if we got him and another creative scoring type, i'd be ok. but just higgy won't cut it.
Get jiggy with the Higgy?
You could say that along with Villa he's the most accomplished striker that we've been linked with and yet nobody seems to wants either.
Is it the la Liga connection?
I'd reckon that Higuain is as good as Michu, Benteke and would probably cost less in transfer fees but maybe more in wages.
Villa's too old, has achieved too much and is too physically suspect now.
I don't think the same can be said of Higuain at this point.
I do think the crapshoot of "adaptation to the physical demands of the Premier League" (translation: getting kneecapped on a cold wintry night at the Britannia) is a risk for anyone we sign from the Iberian peninsula.
Michu, Mata and Santi spring to mind.
Of course they are all from the north of Spain, that does make a difference
Yeah, it's just a roll of the dice with each player. Some are fighters and professionals, others are like "this shithole's farken cold!" ... I wouldn't move house from Seville to Stoke in a hurry.
Stoke could only be described as a hell hole, that last report about pigs heads in players lockers confirmed my suspicions.
Nobody in their right mind would move there
One hitch with this transfer: Madrid presumably won't be doing anything in the market until they install a new manager, and with Ancelotti refused an exit by PSG, that's all a bit murky for now.
I would take him in a heartbeat, but:

Nah, the manager doesn't really matter.
Maybe, maybe not. I'm sure Perez could make the call but why would he do so without finding a new manager first?
Because Madrid are odd like that and they will just let Zidane or someone make the decision. They said a few weeks ago, knowing full well the situation with the management, that Higuain is going and Benzema is staying.
True, they are odd, but surely a couple of weeks ago the situation they perceived regarding their management was that Carlo was hot to trot, as opposed to grounded by QSI's insistence on his contractual obligations.
Of course he will probably still end up there by hook or by crook.
Higuian is an Argie. They breed tough hombres in Argie land.
But he's also half French, so....hmmm, dunno.

My thoughts exactly, would be a good signing but doesn't excite me in the slightest.
Juventus are after him according to La Gazzetta just arrived in Madrid.
Real wants 30 million (Euros) and they are offering 22 for now.
Also, Napoli are interested in Dzeko, and would contemplate a cash and player deal for Cavani, whose release clause is alleged to be 63 million euro.

22, 27, 10, 22, 14 the number of la Liga goals that he's scored each season since 08/09.
14 being this season's total (started 17 games).
The 09/10 season he scored those 27 in 28 starts. Is he the type of player who would struggle against PL style defenders?
Though if the defending in the league next season is anything like as poor as it was this season he could hit the ground running.
I think he could score 30 goals for us next season. He's got it in him. From what I've seen the player that he resembles most is Hernan Crespo.
He's not a holdup player though. Doomed to fail if that's how we're going to use him.
He's a quality striker
Seriously people ain't getting excited by Higuain? They probably haven't seen him enough.
He's a proper goalscorer. Him and Jovetic would be great as they'd add two very different things to our attack.
He'd be a fantastic buy, we'll struggle to find a better striker with his profile. Of course there are risks but that's the case no matter who we buy, even at his worst he's still an upgrade on what we have imo.
But I think Juventus may be able to steal him off us.
