Giroud's movement at times behind the defence and into space far limiited than Lewandowski gets to work with was extremely good. He could have got us points in both games against Chelsea, Sunderland and other games.

He just is a poor finisher and yes, his lack of pace costs us.

That isn't to say the likes of Higuain/ Lewandowski are only marginally better. They can play with ball at feet for starters.

In fairness, Giroud's first touch isn't the best, and his lack of pace is certainly an issue. Especially since he's a bit of a pansy despite being built like a tank.

His movement is good though, that's for sure, his finishing lets him down. I think that he could kick on and improve massively in his second season, but I just don't want to take the risk, far more sensible to just sign someone who is much better.

Getting a goal-a-game goalscorer is still not the way I would be looking. I'd be looking at someone who can get the best out of Theo because he'll be that goal a game player. I want a creative forward - but not another midget attacking mid. Don't know how all this fits in with the Higster. Might work.

nah, anyone with half a brain knows lewandowski is far superior technically to giroud.

I think people have gone overboard with Lewandowski too. I've always liked him but he's not a "special" player by any stretch of imagination. He's a good striker with a bit of that instinct which is impossible to teach people. That's pretty much it. Plenty of players like him out there. You just need to find them and give them a chance. It's easy to play with guys like Kagawa and Götze as long as you've got a bit of movement off the ball.

I think he is a bit better than that, as i first noticed him at Euro 2012 when he dominated Russia almost on his own as the rest of his teammates were rubbish.

I'd say Lewandowski is very close to being a tier 1 striker. My tier 1 consist of current strikers in europe like RVP, Cavani, Falcao, Ibra, Suarez. (in case some trolls ask, Messi and Ronaldo is on another planet)

The thing about Lewandowski is that he has certain traits that will take a bit of time to adjust to the premiership. His feet aren't especially quick and he is quite slow in getting his shots away; you could say that they are similar problems to Giroud, though more pronounced in the latter.

Could well just be that Lewandowski is miles better than Giroud and will adapt in no time at all but it's pretty common for that type of striker to struggle with the initial adaptation to the pace and aggression of the defences here.
