Unless we have a "special" deal or two lined up where ready cash or a pre-agreement is a factor (Cazorla, Podolski), then we will, as usual, wait for other clubs to spunk their loads before we enter the market.

Higuain can't seriously be forced to go to a Bale-less Spurs with no CL football for the equivalent of £5m compensation for Madrid relative to a cash deal.
Juve are supposedly in for Higuain, Jovetic, and Tevez—either way they're definitely in the market for a forward. Perhaps once they make a move for one of the three, or someone else we'll be in the game after that.
