He just did a Benitez during Real's press conference
He had a sheet of paper with him with statistics about former Real managers. No mind games, this is facht.

Heres another facht about Benitez, he'll probably add another UEFA cup to his record of trophies.
Yes. Well, if he's proud of that given the position his team was in 8 months ago then good for him.
Well it's something Wenger never even managed to do in 30 years.
Because that bastard played in the Champions league for the majority of his career! Anyway, you don't have a point here. Nice try. I mean, sensational work on changing the topic of the thread, but no cigar.
Jeebus, every fucking thread!

Err so did our bastard- As he constantly remind's us.

In which case your '30 years' comment is a little disingenuous.
No we were talking about the UEFA cup then which Wenger competed in as a player and manager.
We're not even smart enough to finish 3rd and get a passport into the latter stages of the UEFA cup, no, we have to romp the group stages (playing fringe players at the end so we miss out on top spot) so we get drawn against a top team and get ass raped in the first leg perform decently in the second leg go out after 1 knockout leg.
Rinse and repeat.
So Chelsea were smart to finish third? Fantastic.
I'm out before Burnwinter's forced to lock another thread.
Nah we're okay GM, I think he's got me on his ignore list so it looks like you're arguing with yourself.
My main gripe with Wenger is that, despite managing such a big club for 16 years, he's never won the Championship. Not once. You gotta wonder why that is. Best manager in the club's history can't even win the English second division. It makes you think.
Sure does Klaus, although he does call the premiership "the championship" but that as Capi says is probably more mistranslation rather than a Freudian slip.
In football 365 today the poll is who is Europes best manager?
Jupp Heynckes
Alex Ferguson
Jurgen Klopp
Jose Mourinho
Pep Guardiola
No mention of "one of the top coaches in the world".
....... And Guardiola hasn't even worked this year.
Biggus wrote:Heres another facht about Benitez, he'll probably add another UEFA cup to his record of trophies.
He'd probably happily sacrifice his team finishing in the Top 4 for that, a trophy on his CV will look more impressive than a top 4 finish.
He's a bit funny like that.....
As Gunner89 said: When are they painting on that 4th place trophy at the Emirates, over the summer?
Biggus, would you honestly prefer to win the UEFA cup but finish 5th in the league?
I would.
Irish gunner wrote:Biggus, would you honestly prefer to win the UEFA cup but finish 5th in the league?
Of course, its a trophy.
Not the most prestigious one of course but it's real not a chimera, whats 4th place? just an entry into a competition we have no chance of winning.
A half a loaf is better than no bread.
Mourinho looks beaten and lifeless these days.
He'll find it alot harder this time around, that is a certainty.
I think so.
Ridiculous that Chelsea fans were singing his name during the SF tie against Basel the other night.
Still prefer him to the senile old guignol we have.
Second time's the charm, Biggus.
Just sayin'
Don't see why Mourinho can't do what he did before, really. There's no objective reason that Chelsea's squad isn't good enough to win the league.
Benitez has done alright in he teeth of absurd opposition, but Mourinho would get them playing more efficiently than they have done in all likelihood, and would have the backing to build a bit of momentum.
Captain wrote:He'll find it alot harder this time around, that is a certainty.
Agree on that. Would be funny if he is sacked again by Roman A.
Competition for players is more fierce in the Prem than it was before.
This is true … but Chelsea's current squad probably isn't much more than a £50m striker who doesn't suck away from being able to challenge strongly.
If it's just not sucking that's the criterion why do you even have to spend 50m quid?
Well exactly. More in reference to the £50m striker they have who does suck, Torres, and the one they're heavily linked with, Falcao.
Falcao + Mourinho would make them contenders. They do need to solve conundrums like Obi John but they're so much closer than we are to competing. My big fear right now is Spurs. They have some good momentum. Chelsea can always be a contender. Just don't want Spurs sealing our just-good-enough 4th spot.
Chelsea's league position over the last 2 season would suggest they are as are away from competing as we are. Yet we need 4+ world class players and they need just one striker "who doesn't suck"?

True

Unless Spurs radically change their pay structure they'll never compete in the long term. Bale is going to leave them and when he does they'll be back to square one. Without him they're probably worse than Liverpool.
The one thing you can say about us now is that even if we did lose 2 of our better players they wouldn't be too hard to replace.

Bale won't leave for a good few seasons. Spurs are quite good at forcing players to stay against their will like they did with Modric for a couple of seasons.
If he does leave i suspect his price range will be between the 50-60 million range(he's British).
Timothy wrote:Chelsea's league position over the last 2 season would suggest they are as are away from competing as we are. Yet we need 4+ world class players and they need just one striker "who doesn't suck"?
Yep. And their results this season against the top sides more or less bear out the theory. They need consistency, "momentum", positive buzz from the fans, continuity in management and a top striker - then they'll compete for the league title again.
By the way I don't agree we need 4+ world class players to compete for the title though it certainly wouldn't hurt. I reckon we need a top centre forward to work with, someone really decent through the spine (whether a CM or a godly CB) and to replace any useful player we lose through attrition.
YounGunner wrote:Bale won't leave for a good few seasons. Spurs are quite good at forcing players to stay against their will like they did with Modric for a couple of seasons.
Supposedly he re-signed for four years a year ago. That puts him up to two years away from the issue becoming forced in theory.
But at the same time, you read that they've got a 130k deal "on the table" for him at the end of the season, so I'm not clear what his situation is.
if bale doesnt leave this summer, then he'll leave the next. spurs have a merely ok squad without bale, though they'd probably bring in 1 or 2 good players with the transfer fee. i have a feeling liverpool will finish higher in the table than them next year.
arsenal needs 2 world class players to truly compete. there's a host of ok players that we could easily do without.
People now suggesting that Jose is trying to get himself sacked so he gets his penalty clause activated. Wouldn't doubt that at all.
