Tim, although I am Swedish I´d just like to say that I don´t particularly like Ibrahimovic. He is cocky, has a poor attitude, constantly involved in trouble with team mates, and is generally an asshole IMO. On the pitch I mainly dislike the way he gestures and screams at team mates, and that too often I think he is lazy and doesn´t work hard enough. I even think Sweden´s piss poor national team works better without him.
Having said all that, there is no denying he is a top, top class player. He is a winner everywhere he goes, and over the course of a season he always delivers. He scores goals, assists, and is easily one of the best players around to orchestrate a team´s attacking play. Even at Barcelona, where a lot of people say he was shit, he put up better numbers than David Villa who is highly regarded by most. He had 16 goals and 7 assists in 23 games. And that is by a player who was regarded as a failure. Even at international level he delivers. In the last 2 seasons he has 7 goals and 3 assists in 12 games for Sweden.
The ONLY place where he has failed to deliver, is in the CL. To deem him as anything but top, top class because of that, is like saying Messi isn´t top class because he isn´t doing it for Argentina. Makes little sense.
