GM: Not on this season's evidence. Pirlo is playing better than he's been doing for years. One of the best midfielders in the world as things stand.

What's really impressive, however, is that Allegri found a replacement in Nocerino, who's been solid but unspectacular for years, and somehow turned him into one of the best central players in the league. I think he cost Milan €500K or something like that. Wenger would've been proud of that steal.

He's got 21 goals and 8 assists in 23 games this season. He's without a doubt one of the best strikers in the world.

Klaus, you have a ridiculously high opinion of Serie A. Anyone who does well in that league is automatically one of the best in the world in your opinion and you'll defend 'em till the cows come home, but you slag off loads of Prem players that are among the best in their positions in this league. Just an observation, mate.

Some of you guys don´t appreciate Serie A enough. They have 3 teams in the last 16 of the CL for instance. Napoli, that are struggling domestically in 7th place, was easily the better team over 2 legs compared to Man City. We all know that Man City are favorites to win the title in the PL, so what does that say? This is all without mentioning Juventus that are top of Serie A and have been brilliant so far this season.

As for Thiago Silva and Ibrahimovic, I agree with Klaus. They are both easily one of the best, if not the best, in the world right now in their respective position.

I've watched a bit of Serie A in the last couple of weeks and have drawn the conclusion that the standard is a fair bit lower than the Premier League, and with that in mind, I would struggle to call anyone who plays there the best in the world in any position.

Di Natale is fanfuckingtastic though! One of the best finishers I've seen. Maybe even the best.

Thiaga Silva has been very good for a while now, hasn't he? And I think the title of 'Best Defender in the World' is up for grabs.

Very little. Spurs who finished 5th in the Prem last season beat Milan, Serie a champs, over 2 legs. We beat Udinese twice, who are currently 3rd in Italy, when we were at our lowest ebb in years and years. They're just one off ties where anything can happen.

Inter effectively lost to Trabzonspor over 2 legs, Man Utd lost to Basel etc, etc.
