They probably need some big investment but I can't help thinking that they aren't using the current player resources correctly.

His biggest job is a psychological one - getting into Torres' head. I would consider replying him as he was innSpain when the Atletico offense essentially went through him and he played like a Gerrard/Fabregas type. Stick Drogba, Malouda / Sturridge, Lampard, Mata and Ramires around him and see what happens. They desperately need to unlock Torres.

He'll be a top class defender within the next 3 years or so. As a midfielder he's obviously awful.

I'm just relishing Chelsea's present troubles, which don't appear to have an immediate solution. I was far from the only Villas-Boas to Chelsea sceptic.

It actually would have been easier for AVB had he taken over Arsenal instead. As a team the players here are already used to playing the type of game he wants to play, and our players are better suited for it really. For one thing we have 2 CBs with real pace in TV and Kos, which is essential if you want to play with such a high line.

Tis true, what we're playing right now is not really all that different to what he is trying to play at Chelsea funnily enough.

Despite the focus on the defence, his big problem are the lack of wide players and the form of his centre-forwards.

Wouldn´t hurt if Mikel wasn´t a donkey and Terry got a new set of legs though for what AVB is trying to do.

Mikel isn't a donkey though, is he? And I'm almost certain that Terry is no less mobile than Mertesacker.

It'll probably sort itself out in the next two transfer windows. If they're serious about adapting a new philosophy then Villas-Boas won't get sacked. Meireles and Mata were two good buys in the summer. Add a left-winger in january, Modric in the summer and a more dynamic striker than Torres and they're laughing again. You have to wonder why he doesn't use David Luiz more often though. He's the best suited defender for the kind of football they're trying to play. Still not over the knee injury?
