😆 I've actually read that article from start to finish now (must admit my attention wandered once or twice the first time) and, jokes aside, it's pretty scary.
The only congenital liar I've heard of whose exploits compare would be that guy from The Imposter, Frédéric Bourdin. You get the impression that what ultimately sucks people in is the complete lack of a relatable motive for the behaviour. Hours and hours of meticulous legwork to cheat someone out of a few hundred quid.
