Wenger keeps them wrapped in cotton wool for as long as possible, and then when he finally starts rolling them out, and they start coming good, they decide they want to leave

On Madrid, what they are supposedly doing is not unusual. They have a star striker who wants to leave. They don't have any replacements in yet. They don't have to sell him. So why shouldn't they wait until they have tied up a Cavani or Lewandowski as replacement?

On Wenger, give the guy a break. The season's still far away. I expect he will have a wretched summer transfer window as per most years, but it's unfair to try and sentence him in early July.

If Wenger spends big this summer and comes out and says that he was unable to spend before due to restrictions, a lot of fan will forgive him. If he does not spend this summer and keeps quiet about why, people will become restless, especially those who are paying big money to watch our club live.

I'm sure for most of the players and us fans this is the case but we don't make the decisions.

If this happens it will be interesting to see what Gazidis does regarding his contract. He has set Wenger up to be thrown under the bus if he doesn't deliver. A new contract means his credibility will be eroded.

Still think we will sign top bracket players. Guys like Legrove and Tim Payton who have contacts within the club and have always been critical of the way Wenger has run things seem bizarrely optimistic for some reason.
