We still need a dribbler in the wide area i'd go for Ben Arfa

People who talk about him being a pointman in Premier League do so, I assume, because he's got a decent finish and a good frame to build on if he adds a few pounds. He doesn't like duels though. I think he would drop too deep to escape marking if we put him up front at Arsenal. I'm a huge admirer of him for the record. He's one of the first names I would sign if I were given unlimited funds. But Captain is right, we don't need another project up front. We need someone next season who can not just add to our game but make a difference when the chips are down. Giroud is awful in that aspect, and I think Jovetic will be too. He'll bring others into play and make us more fluid, but it will still leave us blunt up front. There's no comparison to Cavani in my opinion. Cavani is a hard-working forward with a great sense for goal. Bit like Forlan in this aspect. He's got very good technique for a forward but he's no wizard. Jovetic is more cultivated. Ideally we'd spend every cent we've got available this summer to bring in both.

Isn't that typical of Wenger? He always ignores strikers/finishers. HIs obsession with CF/hold up play is too much. Big teams need strikers. people who can finish the tightest of chances and make the difference. This is why Wenger is so frustrating.
Mail and Mirror reporting we've opened talks. Seems to be picking up pace.

This guy wasn't a brilliant striker either when we got him to be fair:
It's a strange accusation to level at Wenger.
Adebayor and Persie were not goalscorers either. It was only a couple of seasons ago most here didn't seem to think van Persie was suited to the role either.
I'm more confidant about Wenger developing talented strikers than I am about him doing anything else.
Jovetic is very good at holding up play anyway. I am convinced he is the best option we could sign outside the world top strikers.
I am not accusing him of anything. I just think he makes things hard for himself at times. And its not strange capi, he tends to leave the team short. Like the time we had arshavin playing up front, or the goal keeping situation or the CB situation or even the DM situation. Its just the way he is and it can be incredibly frustrating.
That's not what you said though, Cannon. I can only base my wording on what is written on the page.
Wenger also signed Eduardo, whose best attribute was positioning and finishing.
dont think he's the best choice for us upfront but he'd atleast make us exciting again
He's mega talented and exciting. I am behind this 100%; even if it takes a bit of time to adapt as a centre forward.
I think we need as many world class player as we can get. Never watched Jovetic but if people say he is world class i wouldn't say no to him at all.
Don't think he's world class
jovetic aint world class, and if he was we wouldnt get anywhere near signing him. he might become world class in a couple of years, and i think he's as one of the best strikers out there that we actually have a chance of signng.

He's always preferred small squads, he probably thinks that it's easier to man manage.
Unfortunately, we have far too many injuries for it to work most of the time.
He's not going to change that though, like you said, it's the way he is.

Bingo.
This is the level of player that we need to target, players who are (hopefully) on the cusp of becoming excellent.
Yup, Gazz and Irish. These are the types of guys Jovetic, Isco, Eriksen, etc.
Just forget about the Cavani, Falcao, Gotze, etc class of player.
This also feeds the elephant in the corner - that like RVP/Cesc they may want to leave once they're "world class".
Hmmmm........
