Sagna is in his last year come the summer.
The quality of our last 4 signings is decent though. Cazorla, Podolski, Giroud and Monreal. Add another 3 like that plus one superstar and we'd have a good team again.
Asking abit too much. I would be surprised if we even make 2 or more signings in the summer. Happy enough if Sagna leaves given the form he is in right now, provided we replace him with someone good enough like Monreal kind.

Also Vermaelen and Santos offer no link up play with Podolski which hampers the effectiveness of our already bang average attack - in fact the left flank is the only area where we see combination play between Gibbs and Podolski.
I guess it stems from Don's perception that fullbacks don't have much to offer. Or, rather, poor fullbacks don't affect the team.
I actually fullbacks is one of the most important position in our team. Most of the goals we concede is due to poor defending from our fullbacks letting opposing wingers in.
And whenever our fullbacks is inept attacking wise, our wingers don't work as well and we don't create chances. Our right wing haven't been creating chances in many matches now and the attacking combination play on the right is as poor as it gets.

Yeah, I can appreciate he may be an improvement but it's like giving the team a plaster when it needs open heart surgery.
Its better than nothing. At least the plaster allows the guy to survive for awhile.
