Not sure how much control Montella has over transfers, i've seen their director of football get a lot of credit for their summer transfer deals in a few articles it would appear he's the main guy when it comes to buying.
They've changed things from top to bottom at Fiorentina this summer. New coach, new director of football, new squad (only 5 or 6 players from last season), new style and it all just seems to work. They've even hired some guy as a set-piece coach who was obsessed with set-pieces and wrote a book on them and they're now scoring a shit load from corners and free kicks. It just goes to show that sometimes changing things up can breathe new life into a club.
