yes of course. ideally the money would be spent on someone like goetze, hummels, cavani, jovetic, isco etc, but that will never happen with wenger in charge. so the alternative is villa or no one (or maybe another chamack, giroud, gervinho etc).

Well we signed 2 in the last window; Podolski and Cazorla.

If Villa is available for a fair price, and hes still pretty much the player he was, we should get him. No brainer. But the doubt is whether he's still that player.

like i said, he's still ten times the player than our other options up front. that's the no brainer in all of this.

Agreed. Villa is still top class, just take a look at his performance this season.

This signing won't have longevity but who cares? Fuck the money, we need short term BIG signings to bring us slowly back to where we belong. Arshavin singlehandedly guaranteed us 4th place, Villa would have the same effect.

People who are being picky doesn't really we are on course to signing fuckall. Its not like we are in for Cavani Villa Jovetic and needs to choose one.

I think Villa would be a signing on a par with the signing of Arteta.
Diminished maybe physically but still class.

He'd most likely be good but Podolski really looks to be coming on strong. Don't see the real need for Villa

Much better to spend that money on a top centreback or fullback

At his age, and taking into account his recent leg break, i am not too sure he will be as effective in the rough and tumble of the Premiership.
Not to mention the salary he would be on, making him impossible to get rid of for the duration of his contract, if it all goes pear-shaped.

the rough and tumble argument of the premiership is outdated. if the player is quality, the premiership will be no problem for him. not to mention, how rough is the premiership these days...

villa is class. much better than what we already got. the alternative is no one. yet some of you don't want us to sign him. crazy.

Just surprised that Giroud and Podolski's recent showing of good form (against mediocre sides) is enough to convince that we're sorted on the striker front.
I don't think we are and I think we'll pay for that.

we've scored plenty this season - thats not our main issue. defensive stability is, along with getting more out of our fullbacks offensively

Meh, we'll make 4th with this squad. Might as well do all our buying (and selling) in the summer and hopefully get better deals.
