Watched Searching.
The original concept and execution were interesting but I never like films that fully commit to an idea and then crowbar scenes to fit the concept and turn it into something ridiculous. There were at least a couple of scenes there that we should not have seen. Would have been better to mix it with traditional filming methods, or if you wanted to stick to the format they did, then leave some gaps.
Also not sure why a film that clearly wanted to make a point about the nature of the online world, social media etc. borrowed a story that was more like your below average crime novel rather than delving into social media in much more detail than at a superficial level.
Loads of illogical moments in there too.
It’s a 5/10 for me, I’m surprised by how highly rated it is. Being unique doesn’t make something good. It could have been a lot better.
