Watched Alien Covenant. What a waste of time. Don't like the origin story at all and the whole thing is just really poorly executed.

The Kingsman sequel was fun. Nothing more than cheesy, over the top action, but well done and at least self-aware.

Haven't seen it, but its average score on Metacritic is 74/100 (please Klaus and BW, don't kill me). Seems like a very polarizing movie.

Unless you're talking box office-wise, in which case I think you're right. They failed msssively with their marketing, people expected something totally different from the trailers.

Mother! is actually well worth seeing.

It's a technically brilliant film that's a little bit conceptually undercooked (it's a climate change parable, Biblical allegory and critique of patriarchy rolled into one, but it doesn't really nail any of it), but it's way better than what Christopher Nolan gets up to.

The fact so many people hate it while other love it makes me want to see it. Too many bland movies around that get praised to the hilt.

Same Qs. I usually have a bad relationship with Aronofsky. I think The Fountain and The Wrestler are the only films of his I've actually liked. But you can't accuse him of being dull and sticking to the script at least.

I can understand not "liking" it, but certainly Requiem for a Dream is a solid film based alone on some enthralling cinematography and I would say strong acting.

Blade Runner 2049 getting amazing reviews. A worthy sequel is as good praise as you can get.

Watched the Prestige. ‘‘Twas a good watch, felt like the ‘real magic’ element took away from the film though.
