Watched the Prestige. ‘‘Twas a good watch, felt like the ‘real magic’ element took away from the film though.
I really liked that movie, although I agree about the ending there. I suppose there were clues to it but it did annoy me a little. Great performances though and an otherwise very enjoyable plot.
We saw Battle of the Sexes on the weekend. Emma Stone and Steve Carrell are great, and a family friend plays Margaret Court which I didn't realise (not that close a friend obviously). The extended family are into acting - Jessica MacNamee plays Margaret Court, her sister Penny is in Home and Away and has done several musicals in Australia, and their niece Teagan Croft will be playing a lead character - Raven - in Titans.
It's a solid 7 out of 10 movie. It had us wanting to know more about the story of the Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs match. I didn't know much about Riggs at all - quite an interesting character. King's story after the game sounds interesting too. I was aware of her towards the end of her career when I was a lad, but I'm keen to find out more.
