Would say the same about Battle LA. Watched it last night. Had about 2 minutes of good action towards the end but the rest of the 2 hours was just pedestrian.
I am, however, looking forward to Sucker Punch. That's a Lord Dula movie
And I just finished watching 'Valentine's Day'. It's a poor man's 'Love Always', but it does have Jessica Alba :-)

sounds awesome
by the way, watched no country for old men yesterday - how cool was that bad ass guy's gun? the one with the bean can on the end
watched Restrepo last night.. was a documentary on a US army unit in the Korengal valley in Afghanistan over the course of a year.. was very powerful, but not everyone's taste... if you like "real" war movies, its a good watch
Just watched "Tron Legacy", a couple of months after everyone else. Loved it. Very pleasant surprise. I thought it was going to be a CGI nightmare but it might just be the first film ever that has gotten the point of computer-generated special effects: to enhance objects and interiors rather than to build them from scratch. Despite the virtual reality theme it had a very tangible feel to it for the most part. I really appreciated that. The soundtrack was amazing too. You just can't go wrong with a good sci-fi film.
Watched i am no. four few days ago. Overrated Film, nowhere near as nice as it was made out to be

I reckon Donkey Punch would be more Dules' sort of thing.
Lol. It's a movie whose marketing is so clear. Lots of barely clad girls and explosions. It will satisfy most of our movie needs for a long time.

Saw it myself just now.
The original Tron was a major moment for me when I was about 6 or 7. Although I wouldn't say Tron: Legacy was incredibly good, it was very pretty. And it wasn't too rubbish and managed not to vandalise my fond memories of the first film.
Thought it palled considerably in style terms after Flynn appeared. Many of the setups after that were Star Wars ripoffs, and in the oddest, purely visual way as well. But it did manage to have a real 80s feel, even if it was a sort of bondage club retro 80s feel.
Was that Michael Sheen playing "Zeus", or have I got that completely wrong? He was amusing.
Was indeed! He tried a bit too hard to look like Bowie though. They should've gone with the real one instead. It actually annoyed me more and more as I kept thinking about it. The role was perfect for him and, I felt, would have benefited from his mannerisms.
I felt that the story line was extremely weak (although I didn't expect much more), the acting was ropey and the soundtrack was a bad choice that did little to elevate any of the scenes that it was used in. Olivia Wilde looked great though.
The screenplay could've been way better, yeah.
But the fluoro mixture of cod Information Age mysticism and romantic binary (pun intended) drivel was pretty much in keeping with the spirit of the original - a kid's film.
I did find myself wishing a couple of times that it had been this wonderfully subtle existentialist maze of dead ends with a partial, complicated emotional payoff a la Antonioni, but a quick shake of the head cleared that up.
The setup with "Clue" wasn't too bad.
Klaus: yeah, fair enough. The fact he was being a lame Bowie I sort of enjoyed. Bowie being lame Bowie is sometimes a bit excruciating? I hate Labyrinth anyway.
Thinking more along the lines of "The Prestige" or "The Man Who Fell To Earth".
Yeah. But you love Labyrinth don't you?
Bowie was enjoyable in The Prestige. Made Tesla seem like a sort of androgyne in gruff scientist drag.
I do like Labyrinth! Mostly for nostalgic reasons though. I grew up with that film.
Just seen 127 hours. Holy crap. I knew the story already as it was in the news when it actually happened, but the film really brings the story to life. Easily the most incredible tale of survival I've ever heard of. The film really hits you hard. Great performance from Franco in my opinion.
The climber whose story is told in Touching the Void is a similar story of survival against all the odds.

Mine would probably be the failed Shackleton Antarctic voyage.
