I saw it last Friday night.

It was what you'd call a "bro movie" in my opinion. One reference point would be the Hangover, including the out of order chronology and the sentimental bedrock.

It was very funny in places, especially the comic violence. The screenplay was mediocre as were the villains.

Deadpool's girlfriend needed a twist, I found out after watching the film that that she's a superhero in the comics, they steered away from that which was a boring decision in my opinion.

The Liam Neeson reference was the best.

Watching The Big Short now, but had to take a break due to my drunk friend coming home. Loving it so far.

I just watched Darwin's Nightmare. It's about the terrible consequences of planting nile perch in Lake Victoria in Tanzania. The idea was to provide a naturally sustainable food source for a poor country. Good idea! Except they introduced a predator with no natural enemies into a fragile freshwater eco system. They figured Lake Victoria, the world's biggest tropical lake, would be big enough for the nile perch to avoid being fished to extinction.

Instead the fish went Shonda Rhimes on them and killed every damn thing it could get its hands on. It ate all the smaller fish (which was all the fish, because the nile perch looks like this: http://www.africa-angler.com/communities/2/004/012/350/742//images/4603300547.jpg), destroyed the plant life, killed the entire eco system, made hundreds of species of flora and fauna go completely extinct... and then it fucked like crazy and multiplied in numbers in no time. To add insult to injury, all the businesses surrounding the fisheries has attracted organised crime, gun trafficking, corruption and prostitution, making life worse for almost everyone but racketeers and gangsters.

And after everything is said and done, the locals can't even eat the fish because it's too expensive. Instead they're forced to export it to European fish markets that pay them a pittance or what it's really worth. There's an illuminating opening shot in the film where two planes are docked at the airport. One of them is a foreign aid plane full of yellow peas. The other one is full of fresh nile perch fillets on their way to Paris.

Tl;dr: fuck that fish.

Excellent performance by Idris Elba, and the kid, Agu.

Makes you think. There's a lot of fucked up shit going on in the world, especially in war torn and strife ridden regions.

Absolutely blown away at how good it was technically. Amazing. Story was a little bit too simple maybe, but that's about the only small negative i can think of. One of those movies which is not actually a movie, but an experience.

Just watched a documentary titled Meru....
Three mountain climbers (2 of the 3 well known, very experienced) go after one of the toughest climbs in the Indian Himalayas, Meru and the route known as Shark's Fin....
Fascinating, ultimate risk taking by a team...
Loaded down with their equipment , their portaledge, a sense off purity still shines through...
Well done, gripping story with solid back stories...

I watched the film which was running at the same time as the debate....Why not tie a rope around Rubio, Cruz and Trump and send them up, up and away? 🙂

Speeding - Keanu gets a lot of tickets and finally has his licence suspended.

Kangaroo Jacking... not something you wanna watch unless you're into that stuff.

The Land Before Timing, the worst comedy movie you have ever seen where every joke is poorly timed and the plot involves awkward situations where people are in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Dude, where's my caring?
A film about the bleakness and apathy of urban life.

Minority Reporting - A racist old man goes around looking for black people committing minor crimes, then calls the police.

Yeah, but at Reddit they're not party poopers.

Jack Reacher - average action movie with no surprises and a surprisingly lack of action, but good acting.

Rescue Dawn - Good movie and quite a story, though I read that there are of course some inaccuracies, particularly involving the cartoonishingly annoying Gene.
