Saw the Avengers film yesterday. Was ok, too much going on though with various things just glossed over or not explained. We're not all Marvel fanboys. What was the deal with that cave pool Thor took a dip in?

That Thor stuff was a bit removed from everything. Assume its all lead in to Ragnarok.

It was simply more of the same. I know im getting old and stuff, but, the editing speed in action scenes is truly horrific nowdays. Its just so fast and loud.

I agree with that completely. Did you watch any of Daredevil on Netflix? The action scenes are so much better because they hold on the shots and you can actually see whats happening.

Also the very first action scene in Ultron is woeful. The CGI looks so video gamey.

Like I said I think its what happens between the action that makes it one of the better Marvel movies. It is still a Marvel movie though.

Watched the first season of Flash. Picked up in the last few episodes, but I have no idea why I kept watching tbh. Speaking of physics in movies/tv shows, it bugs me that everyone Flash saves would have died because of the impact from his speed. 🙂

Reminds me of the Bay segment from Every Frame a Painting. Reckon many of the heavily edited, absurdly kinetic action flicks of this era will be mostly forgotten in the future.

I had no idea what was going on in most of the Avengers action scenes. It just got boring.

that's one of the reasons cap 2 is one of the best marvel flicks. the action is alot more personal and down to earth. i'm a sucker for well choreo-graphed fight scenes. wish cap's fight with georges saint pierre had gone a little longer.

I like Winter Soldier a lot but the final battle scene is more messy than the Ultron final battle. Worst battle in Ultron is the Iron Man vs Hulk fight, the blatant evoking of 911 has become too common and way too on the nose.

Watched age of Ultron yesterday. It was ok. Not as good as the first Avengers film. Too many jokes and not enough tension. The cgi was disappointing as well at times.

😆 yeah, exactly. I really hate this trend. Shaky cam and quick editing does NOT equal a great action scene. Wish directors would get it already.
