Event Horizon is class.
Saw The Lives of Others last night. Extremely engrossing, clever and poignant film. Very nice. Probably romanticised the whole GDR under the Stasi thing just a tad.
Well the GDR were quite good at sport.
Watched The Inside Job yesterday. Great documentary about the financial collapse. Some of the assholes they interview who still oppose any kind of regulation are just unbelievable.
Watched Confessions yesterday. A little slow in parts but was good, would recommend it.
Watched Micmacs.
Quite a funny film - a sort of Jeunet meets heist genre meets Yojimbo plotline. Great set designs and visual effects too.
Exprndables. That's crud
Having watched Confessions, I picked up Kamikaze girls at HMV this morning. Halfway through and it's decent, if a little oddball, so far.
 at the name. Sounds like Kami made a porno or something.
Speaking of kamikaze girls, I keep seeing the trailer for Sucker Punch. It looks like such a bad movie, but I'm going to watch it. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0978764/
Kamikaze Giirls was pretty good. Probably would have been alot better with a more indepth knowledge of Japanese culture, have a strong feeling that I missed alot of comedy.
Gonna buy Memories of Matsuko when I'm out tomorrow.
It's quite similar in tone to Amelie so if you liked that, it may be worth checking out.
Just saw My Name Is Khan, and I really liked it. Like a Bollywood Forest Gump.
Losers. Was really quite crap. Such a B-grade cast.
How stoned was James Franco at the Oscars tonight? Sweet Jesus.
Anyone watched True Grit?
I thought it was a great film, typical Coen Brother humor. Found the last 10mins a bit unecessary though, thought it would of been much better without it.
It was great to see the Brits doing so well for themselves at the Oscars this year. And yeah Franco did look kinda stoned, lol.
I found True Grit a bit flat personally!

That's not at all uncommon, Ostalgie is very popular in Germany still, and has contributed to some of their best cinema from the last 10 years. Goodbye Lenin was excellent.
Also, I woke up this mrning to find out that Wolfman had won an Oscar. There really is no justice in the world.
I love how Cate Blanchett called the Wolfman clip "Gross!" before proceeding to open the envelope and announce that movie as the winner. Classic.
