Enjoyed The King's Speech. Really good film, and Colin Firth is very good, as is Geoffrey Rush.

watched The Fighter tonight.. was a good movie.. thought Wahlberg and Bale (and Amy Adams) did excellent jobs

watching 127 Hours right now..

edit - just finished watching it.. fucking fantastic.. testament to a humans will to survive.. Franco was outstanding

I' all over that; have a new found like for franco after pineapple express.

127 Hours was okay. Speaking of Pineapple, I listened to an interview with Boyle the other day where he talked about why he casted Franco:

"Pineapple Express. That's the truth. But then I met him and he was the same as in the movie. I thought he was stoned but then somebody told me he's always like that."

Not really. Some reviews made it out like it's Cannibal Holocaust or something but it wasn't like that at all.

That's true, some of the reviews report that it's possibly the most realistic gore ever committed to film.

one scene was kind of tough to watch, but no worse than most of the stupid slasher movies..

but its amazing how Franco has turned out after watching him in Freaks and Geeks.. he's really turned into a decent actor who's working hard at getting better

Klaus, i remember when Boyle said that, but the funny thing is, Franco is really really smart (pursuing his PhD in English at Yale)

Yeah, no doubt. I think that Boyle was mostly referring to his easygoing personality.

true that..

also watched The Last Exorcism on Friday night.. was a decent flick as well.. got poor ratings on IMDB, and it was a bit of a ripoff on a few different movies, but it was entertaining for the most part, even a few "hair raising" moments here and there

Watched 127 Hours last night too. Very good film, as everyone else has already said Franco was excellent.

Watched the Town on Friday, another good watch. You can't beat a good heist movie and this was a very good heist movie.

The Town was a pretty good film, but as far as institutionalised working class criminality goes, last year's film Animal Kingdom about a family of Melbourne gangsters is far, far better.

So I watched True Grit anyway - really enjoyed it, it's a quality film. The kid actor is brilliant. Bridges is funny as motor-mouthed drunkard Rooster Cogburn and it's also the best role I've seen Matt Damon in for a while. Had all the usual Coen trademarks including the gloss-over climax, the sassy characters, and the moments of startling violence.

Also finally saw Four Lions, which was good. Nice change of pace for Chris Morris who has pretty much been my favourite comedy writer since The Day Today.

havent seen Animal Kindgom yet.. wanted to watch it, but the download I had was corrupt, so i re-DL'ed it and havent got to watch it yet..

saw The Social Network last night right before the GG's.. was a very good movie..

i liked The Town as well.. surprisingly, Affleck did a good job, and i thought Jeremy Renner was good in it too..

Am I the only one here who still goes to the cinema???

Only for the big movies really.

Buy everything once released on blu-ray and/or dvd.

Love the big screen experience.

Me too, especially for action films.

You must see an action movie at the theater. I look forward to even rubbish movies like Transformers. Until i have a screen over 60 inches, this will be the norm.

I was upset after watching Transformers 2 for free, if I'd paid for it I don't know how I'd react.

I mostly download films. The closest cinema to me requires a drive, which means someone can't have a drink and you have to put up with idiots too. No thanks, sitting at home with a few beers and film sounds much more fun to me.
