Over the weekend, we watched

The Awakening- 7/10 ghost story with Rebecca Hall and Dom West
Coriolanus- 9/10 Shakespeare updated by Ralph Fiennes
Jurassic Park- 9/10 (haven't seen it for years, but went to the cinema to see it twice when it came out all those years ago)
Burn After Reading- 7/10 second viewing, not as funny as first time around. Still good though.

Trailer for Cloud Atlas looks interesting. One of the Wachowski brothers are directing, will reserve judgement till I watch it.

What wasn't good was paying £8.30 for my ticket (after student discount) and my mate paying almost 10 quid at Vue cinemas. I notice that they change their prices and deals from cinema to cinema. In Wood Green, Vue cinema has cheap mondays where all tickets are £3.95. Now that is a good deal.

There's a cineworld in woodgreen. They do monthly passes for 14.99 and that gives you a discount for food and drinks too. Seems worth it especially for Londoners. But here's a word of caution: http://www.kidinthefrontrow.com/2011/03/cineworld-unlimited-pass-is-it-worth-it.html

I do most of my cinema trips, with Imax exceptions, at Greenwich Picturehouse. 35 quid for a year's membership, no booking fees and cheap tickets. Plus you get 3 free tickets a year. And discounts on all food and drink purchases in there, as well as at places like GBK and Hotel Chocolat.

It's great! Especially as you get to watch films in peace.

Small world! Although I don't live in London anymore I used to go to Greenwich Picturehouse all the time. The little tapas joint downstairs is really nice too.

Also Odeon are ridiculous for prices. A joke.

Will see Bond in the Imax though.

Went back to the Cinema I used to go to as a kid for the new Batman film (Wycombe 6 back then, no idea what it is now), and got a ticket & a large popcorn for £6. Bargain.

These days when I go it's either West End, which is a total rip off, or Muswell Hill Odeon, which has a classic art deco auditorium with a balcony, but utter shite to watch films in.

Wood Green isn't too far, but I'd have trouble avoiding the burger king.

That burger king is a Costa Coffee now. Or did they move the Burger King to inside the Mall?

Sky Movie Mondays at Cineworld 02 is where it's at. £3 a ticket and free popcorn. Only about a 5 min drive and has free parking to boot.

Sucks having to go on Monday nights though.

Yeah, haven't eaten in there often, but it's pretty good. The Picturehouse is one of my favourite places in London.

Greenwich and up through Blackheath is an area I really miss now I've moved out of London.

Went with my work colleagues to the Odeon Lee Valley a few years ago and the pricing was ridiculous. We all ordered a large drink which was "on offer" except one of my mates who asked for a small drink. When we looked at the bill, his drink was almost double the price of ours!

Nice one, thanks. Robert Mitchum seemed most likely through google searches but wasn't entirely sure about the tough guy image having not seen his films.

Definitely a tough guy, so I guess that's probably the answer (I also googled it though I did know the Gosling one off the top of my head 😉 ).
