Only one that makes any difference to me is the price. But i would like the Kinect thingy so once you factor that in its what, only 30-40 quid difference?

Not really, I stick all of my torrents onto an external drive for portability. It's great being able to just plug it into the PS3 and watch a movie on my television.

When you factor in the cost of sony's version of the kinect (playstation eye I think) then yeah, it's not a big price difference.

One thing to consider though, is the fact that PS+ gives you free games, whereas XBL gives you dashboard ads 😆

Most modern tvs have that functionality built in.

I can't seem to get subtitles working when I plug my hard drive to my tv. Probably just me rather than a problem with the tv though.

Have to say, I don't use my PS3 for anything other than gaming. Haven't used the Blueray player once for instance. I really don't want or need my gaming console to be anything other than just that, a gaming console.

I use my PS3 for streaming movies from my PC to TV alot. With subtitles you can do whatever way you want - either leave them as a separate file (with the same name) or hardburn them.

A lot of the flaws mentioned with the Xbox are pretty superficial (at least for me), an extra £5-10 a year for Live for example, isn't a big deal (80 pence a month).

Having to have Xbox live gold for Netflix etc... who on earth would by an Xbox and opt not to have Xbox Live?

The Kinect needing to be connected... again, what else would you want to do with your Kinect, use it as a paper weight?

How does the free games thingy on PS Plus work?

They release 3-4 games a month at the moment.

For instance last week they released Uncharted 3, XCOM and Little Big Planet Karting for free. There are probably another 10 games available there too from previous months.

I use both my PS3 and Xbox for watching TV, movies, etc. I've got the xbox on here now with Sky player on it. Have US NEtflix set up on my PS3, Irish Netflix on the xbox. Watch BBC iplayer on my PS3. Watch downloaded TV and movies on both.

Looks awesome.

Hopefully they're planning on chucking it on the next gen consoles at some stage.

Nah, they wouldn't bother doing that. I'm sure they'll never port it to the next gen even though it's getting an XBox release and the fundamentals of the architectures are similar.

How would a step like that make them additional squillions while hardly breaking a sweat in creative terms?

Anyway, watched that last night. Looks awesome as you say. Looks like they've borrowed a thing or two from Red Dead as well, like the "weapon wheel" for gun selection.

Had no intentions of getting GTA V after the dissapointment that was 4, but this actually looks good.
