Speaking of video games, there's a Nintendo Direct coming up tonight (5PM EDT). They announced it out of the blue yesterday. Fingers crossed for more news about Breath of the Wild 2!

Skyward sword remake instead. Remakes seem to be all Nintendo are doing these days.

What a complete waste of time that was haha. If you're going to put an old Zelda game on the Switch why not just give everyone the Wind Waker game they want instead of these ugly washed out Wii games that were never great to begin with?

They already remastered Wind Waker for the Wii U though.

Nintendo is kind of like Disney at the moment in that they're relying almost entirely on their popular existing IPs. I wish both would focus more on new ones.

Exactly, it should be a piece of cake to put it out there for the Switch too.

Agree that there's a bloatedness about almost every Nintendo series. They did a 50 minute show last night and a new Mario Golf was the biggest shock of the night. The fight system in a new Tactics game was being presented with the same enthusiasm as if it were a completely new IP.

If they were gonna remake a single LoZ game it'd have to be OoT for me or possibly Majora's Mask. Wind Waker was great but already has a remake since the original, think it's high time they do it for OoT and not just slightly upscaling the graphics، a proper remake.

TBF thats true and last year it was Animal Crossing which was bloody huge. They'll drop Splatoon 3 and it'll probably sell insane amounts too.

Breath of the Wild was it. Just need them to hurry up and make the sequel while they still remember what it's like to have ambition again.

Folks, any suggestions for fun games to play with friends over zoom?

I've got the jackbox party packs, skribbl.io... are there any good quiz games out there? I've tried searching but it's maddeningly hard to find anything that isn't either a) total shit, b) make your own, c) totally american or excessively niche and d) isn't boring.

Honestly, although it's been memed to death, Among Us is a really good time with friends. The perfect Zoom game.

Pretty much +90% of the Among Us games I've played have been with strangers. Just randomly hop in on a game every few weeks when I'm bored.

Dungeons and Dragons (or other role playing games) if you and your lot of friends are a pack of nerds. Good fun. Pick a module if you don't want to come up with any story or characters or anything.

Elden Ring trailer left me feeling a little flat. Still excited for the game itself, though. Mounted mechanics are compelling.
