Its absolutely huge, I couldn't fit it in any of the shelves my TV unit has so its sitting on top. I'd rather that than it sounding like an aeroplane taking off like the PS4 did though.

You know what, I've never had that issue with my PS4. The first PS4 we had was one I bought for my younger brother for his birthday just after launch. Bought myself a PS4 slim in 2016 when I moved abroad then upgraded to a Pro in 2018 with none having that issue. Although I know some friends who have had those issues and noticed them when we'd play at their house.

I still have the original PS4 that I bought on launch day and at this point I can't use it without a headset because it's so loud.

Maybe I was just lucky Quincy. Sold my brother's launch day PS4 when I was buying my Pro and gave him the Slim but both seem to be fine to this day.

Apparently it's an issue with the thermal paste and isn't hard to repair. Not sure I'd be willing to try it though.

Yeah, you got lucky - every PS4 I've come across sounds distinctly like a 747 after a couple of years.

The Xbox One is quiet enough. Anyone remember the RROD on the original Xbox 360? 😆

MS had to repair mine 3 times before I eventually got the updated version.

That PS5 locks like it needs a space port to dock in.

I've a launch PS4 too and while its loud its not that bad. Probably just cleaner than yours, dirtbag.

Can be placed either way. There's a stand you attach to it depending on which way you place it.

I've had no issues with my launch day PS4 either and don't find it especially noisy.

I think what he means is that it's designed to be placed vertically, but yeah they've added the option of placing it horisontalt as well since it's often more practical.

I never had the RROD on my 360 but I did have to take apart my PS3 and use a heat gun to get it working again.

I had the RROD on my original Xbox, managed to get a workaround kit on ebay for less than a tenner which I installed myself and it fixed the problem.

I assumed Microsoft would have closed the Game Pass Ultimate loop hole by now, but no, it's still there. Just purchased 30 months worth at equivalent of just under £4 a month (normally £10.99 a month). I guess it's a bit like the Netflix in that they know people do it but it's worth it to keep them locked in.

Either way, a massive catalogue of PC, Xbox, EA and hopefully Bethesda games is too good to turn down. Series X it is.

Once your membership has expired you basically purchase up to 36 months of Xbox Live Gold (you can find 12 months for £40 odd from CDkeys, maybe cheaper elsewhere I dunno) and then purchase some form of Game Pass Ultimate subscription (I went for the 1 month) and Microsoft extend the GPU sub out for pretty much the full duration of your gold membership.

Last time I did it for £1 because it was my first time, so I've basically only ever paid £12 in total over my Xbox Live Gold membership for Game Pass since launch.

Cheers! I've never used gamepass before but I'm probably getting the new Xbox this summer. I'm going to try this if it's still possible by then.
