Nothing unlucky about it in my opinion, this is a shithouse performance from CDPR. As you say, this is a company known for their awful crunch time and delayed the game right before the launch for the hundredth time to avoid this, only for the employees still having to do it. And then this launch. I can only imagine how fucked the game was a month before the last launch date or whatever it was when they delayed it.
Not that I won't buy the game, I'll just wait a bit, but this is all on them.
