We better get DrogBa before he joins chelsea.
Demba ba
Did Martin Tyler (I think it's he who is commentating) just say Ba is going to Chelsea?
We'll just have to settle for Michu then.
Or Villa, even though I heard today that he's going to City.
His reps are supposedly in London tonight to talk with Chelsea
I'd rather spend big money on hummels than a striker
Wenger said after the Newcastle match that Giroud will become the new Ba.
Talks with Chelsea were 'unsuccessful'.
What a crock of shit that story was.
Due to issues with one of his knees, Ba agreed to a basic weekly salary at Newcastle of £20,000 with another £20,000 on top for appearances. appearances.
Chelsea were willing to double his pay but it is believed he wanted more.
Apparently we're now going to vy with Liverpool and er QPR for his signature.

Don't think Ba is going anywhere this January. Problem I see it is that Ba will not get a decent shot at any of the big teams as no: 1 striker so I reckon he will wait till the summer. At present, Chelsea will still play Torres regardless of how ineffective he is. United have more than enough strikers and likewise City. Tottenham won't sign another striker because Redknapp's gone and they still have Adebayor. Liverpool are seemingly after Ince and Sturridge. We have enough strikers number wise that we are likely to rotate our front three more often than any of the others giving him limited opportunity as the main CF.

The whole story is absolute nonsense. They all got it wrong and are now backtracking like there's no tomorrow.
Makes for some amusing though.
Cheksea have gotten super stingy with the wages they are offering if you were to believe the DM
We won't be signing him. Giroud is better
I don't think Giroud has been as good as him so far this season but he might gain ground now.
His second goal the other day was a bit of a revelation for me.
Giroud has fashioned a fair few chances. Ok his finishing was off but you can see the power and technique is there

He nearly scored the same one a few weeks back; can't remember who against.
Online articles inform me that he only scored one with his head for Montpellier.
The idea that Giroud will surpass Demba Ba is a little bit comical I feel. It's not that he's shit or that Ba is incredibly talented but not sure he is ever going to have the speed of mind and body to do what is needed to be a top premier league striker. His movement is top notch but he's a bit ponderous on the ball at times and his footwork isn't particularly agile on most occasions.
Would be a great back-up striker to have but typically, we're too fucking budget to push him down the pecking order.
Giroud will become more comfortable on the ball and make better decisions as he adapts to the league. Unlike Podolski and Cazorla this is only his third season at the top level (or first, depending on how highly you rate French football) so it's only natural that he'll struggle. But, he's always going to be a big lump up front.
French league is good enough. It's not like the Danish league or something.
The overall level of quality in the French league has dropped dramatically since the years of Lyon's dominance in my opinion. Having two years in the top flight is hardly ideal preparation for the Premier League, especially when he was more or less expected start every game from the moment he arrived.
