Interestingly, Montpellier have played him as a defensive mid quite a bit this season. Unfortunately, they've been rather shit this season, especially compared to last.

I thought he renewed over the summer. Hmm. Would be a good addition. Wonder if Wenger sees him as a CD or DM.

The espn link quotes the official montpellier website in stating that he's signed a new contract. Sanderson has just made this stuff up without even bothering to look into the facts claiming that he is out of contract in 2013. Mods lock this.

You'll have to ask nicer than that, wontcha?

Sanderson's article is clearly poorly written and the Metro isn't the best source around, however just because he's signed a contact extension, doesn't mean it won't happen. Given his profile, he'd be foolish to negotiate with demanding certain clauses be included.

Mods ban this troll.

Newcastle cant close a window right now, let alone a deal. Wouldnt be too confident about them getting him.

Have been linked to the player for a while now but don't know if there is anything in it. He looked good against us

Football transfers is a funny old thing. In the summer they rejected a 20m bid from Milan. Now they are selling him for 6m.

Reminds me of that time we rejected 20m bid from Real for Clichy, only to sell him for 7m 2 seasons later.

There never was a £20 million bid from Milan. Just like we never offered £25 million for M'Vila at any point. Run of the mill transfer bullshit leaked by agents who are trying to raise the profiles of their players.

I'm not a big believer in guys who play across the backline at PL level. Is anyone convinced that this guy could play well as a right back for us?

BBC saying he will have a medical today with Newcastle ahead of joining.

every team that needs to improve is improving... except Arsenal. probably because Wenger sees little wrong.

Holy shit, we're going to buy him and put him in midfield.
