We have rarely played with that type of wide player under Wenger though. What you or I think we NEED is not necessarily what our manager thinks we need. I'd say Holtby is more likely a tranfer target of Wenger's than what you are describing.

You could say walcott is that type of player and if he as expected leaves, then we need someone who could offer something similar or even more.

Hence the 'rarely'. Gervinho goes in that category as well. Still doesn't mean Wenger is looking for a similar type of player.

I think we'll sign a pre-agreement with him instead and take him for free in the summer. Wenger will convince him to come to Arsenal. Not our style to bid for players with six months left on their contract.

Where would you play Holtby Klaus? I think he should be player deeper but a lot of people feel he is best at No 10/attacking MF

In Cazorla's position.

Holtby can player the "Arteta role", doubt he will be coming in t displace cazorla. Don't mind this as long as we boot rosicky out the door at the same time, maybe even send him the other way (if anyone would be stupid enough to take a sicknote like him).

Have been most impressed with him wide but he looked decent at 10 in the two Schalke games and handy in the midfield line when I saw him last season.

He won't. He might provide an option though. Not like we have any aorund.

He's got the skills to play anywhere to be fair (but so does Santi). Wenger usually have some form of intent when he signs a player. Holtby might end up that playmaker we've been missing so badly in the attack.

... or we might not sign him at all. Imagine that.

Holtby would more or less be coming in as a direct Rosicky replacement for me. We were linked with him again last week and that made me happy. It seems to be between us and Liverpool in the British media and simply us in the German. To be able to rest Cazorla would be a huge bonus for us and to have an alternative would strengthen the squad by 25% alone.

While I imagine a huge amount are considering he could play on the wings and he can. With Ryo, Gervinho, Chamberlain, Walcott and probably someone coming up from the youth, I doubt we'll need him there.

The only thing that could get in the way of Holtby coming would probably be Diaby.

wouldn't require much imagination.

Not a bad bump actually. Bandy has potential. 🙂
