Thanks for the info doc, I'm 31 and by the way my bpm have never been low 30s. Lowest I've ever had were around 42 or 43 bpm. I'm aware of the possible risks of having atrial fibrillation and the doctors explained that to me at the time when it would happen quite often and suggested surgery. Waited for a second opinion and decided that I would wait to get back to London before doing any kind of surgery.
However the episodes stopped a couple of months later and the doctors changed their minds. Thing is I'm not currently on medication as my case isn't regular and it doesn't show up on ECGs that often. Think I even did a holter for a week a few months later and nothing showed up.
Plus when you have an episode of atrial fibrillation you kind of know as you start to feel the palpitations and when checking your pulse you can feel the change of the beats speeding up then slowing down rapidly back ans forth making you tired. It was quite worrying when this happened to me a number of times about 3 years back but eventually once they stopped the doctors suggested that it was possibly down to the stress of a lot of things changing in my life all at once.
Felt fine ever since, although very slight episodes do happen maybe once a year for very short durations so doctors felt there was no need to do anything about it unless it's more frequent.
