gazidis loves the smell of napalm in the morning

yeah he loves rubbing it into that chrome dome of his.

and i don't like them either, but i think it's wrong to want agent orange sprayed at the next board meeting.

We could leave a few landmines at Colney but they'd probably only take out the players we still like.

I'd say the odds for that are getting better by the day.

Can anybody give the slightest fuck about paying 7 million for some kid who might be good in 2015 while we are in desparate need of first team players? If it was in addition to the players we actually need then fine but we all know it will be instead of. Complete and utter waste of time and money on a par with signing Eisfeld last January while we continued in the league with no full backs. The only point of signing him would be to try and turn him into a player to sell to United or City in 3 or 4 years anyway. Why bother?

I refer you to post 21 in the "Sagna on his way out" thread!

How about looking at it like this - we have fuck all chance of doing anything in 2013, so maybe our money would be better invested in premier talent that'll help us win in 2017?

Ok, it doesn't convince me either, but we aren't signing the likes of Götze or Cavani, so would I really be happy if we squander yet more cash on 2nd tier talent this winter that'll never amount to anything? Not really.

The logical contrapositive of the old "we need to stop buying youth players and concentrate on getting a few experienced heads in so we can win something."

"We're going to win fuck all so we might as well plan for the future."

Depressing.

Personally I'd rather not develop someone for United or City at the expense of a proper player for the current team. Just let them buy them and develop them themselves. At the rate we're going there's not going to be a future worth having a star player for anyway.

I reckon we should boo Zaha on arrival then.

😆 Yep, and call him a manc to be grade A cunt.

Zaha has played more professional club games than someone like Jovetic and about the same as Neymar.

Okay, they have been in the championship, but why is the assumption that he can't play first team straight away?

If we buy him I am sure Wenger will want to use him straight away. I have no idea how good he is, but it is a big step up from the Championship to the PL.

The key is to identify good (not great talent) between 24-30 that deliver straight away or within a year give or take-

Vertonghen
Van der Vaart
Cabaye
Ben Arfa
Tiote
Ba
Evra
Hernandez
Michu
Mertesacker
Vermaelen

etc.

No the assumption is that he will be playing in the first team fairly soon but won't be contributing what we actually need until about 2015/16 when he will then be sold to one of the big clubs for a big profit. That's how we do things.

"Complete and utter waste of time and money" would suggest otherwise, but okay.

Right now we need proven quality even if it means splashing out 30m. If wenger isn't up to it he can leave on the 1st of February.

I do not support this Zaha deal.
Wenger should not be allowed to spend another cent.
Need to spend big.

Swansea have a 20 million pound pay roll. Why can't we have something like that with a few big players thrown in? Surely we can have a better squad with a payroll that is 6 or 7 times that of Swansea.
