99 percent of Arsenal fans would have both forgiven and forgotten what either of Cesc and RVP did if they were to come back and play to their own normal standard. Within weeks.

Personally I don't think we should have sold either of them, especially Cesc. I'd easily take Cesc back. I have no doubts whatsoever that he genuinely loves Arsenal, and he is easily one of the best players ever to play for this formidable club. Few players have given me as much joy over the years as Cesc.

Maybe Cesc is the player Wenger was talking about getting in December. He'd take the SS spottho think he'd score and create a ot at CF to but its a waste of his attributes.

Cesc will only leave Barcelona if they want to get rid of him. They have made some ridiculous moves regarding transfers in the recent past so I guess it isn't totally out of the question.

That btw, is the only scenario where we would be favorites to land a player of Cesc's quality.

Not if those self same players in the past have proved disloyal.
I'd rather have a more technically limited player if they were whole heartedly committed to the cause because I believe at the end of the day they're more effective.
Besides there are cheaper alternative options like Carzorla for instance.

Generally, yes. But still, our biggest problem has been that the cheaper alternatives haven't been readily available for the last few years. It's getting harder to find a gem by the day.

thats true, capi. meanwhile, we made a 35m pre-tax profit and are sitting on cash reserves of _120m - all in spite of the fact that united makes more from their training kit sponsorship than we do for the stadium and kit deals combined.

we shouldn't need to rely on unearthing hidden gems or waiting for clearance sales like we have. wenger (or whoever our manager is) should write down the names of guys he wants and gazidis should go get them.
