I'm fine with Gervinho as long as he moves down the pecking order a bit with Theo, Giroud and Podolski all working out so well at the moment. Those 3 need to be first choice. Gervinho coming off the bench is fine though.

I'm 100% fine with Gervinho when he's off playing for the Ivory Coast. It's when he comes back to England that I have problems with him.

He'll be a peripheral figure when he gets back initially, I suppose after that it depends on form and injuries.
Hoping we're not going to get to a situation where we have to rely on him as a key player in attack.
Podolski, Theo and Giroud have to stay available from now to the end of the season if we're going to climb back up the table.

I had already forgotten about Arshavin. 🙁 Goes to show how useless he is.

Don't know anything about Mertens, but if he can run, pass and shoot, I'd take him over the Forehead and Arshavin.

I don't see him as a super sub- If he didn't find a confidence and composure to finish after being a constant starter I don't think he'll find it coming off the bench with 20 minutes to go......

Gervinho might be a pathetic jittery little coward but to be fair to him at least he...no, wait, that's pretty much it.

I don't think he's a coward, just don't think he has the nerve or the big ego needed to be a top attacker

The last time he went to the African Cup of Nations he came back a broken man after missing that penalty in the final, lets hope this time his experience has been different and he comes back more like what we saw of him at the start of last season. I still think he could add something but like y va says he doesn't have the nerve to become a top player.

Well Shava came on last week. I'd much rather have Gervinho come on. He's not great but he works hard and he can beat a defender.

I think he performs better when the pressure is off. Gervinho's biggest problem looks mental to me. He just strikes me as an insecure footballer. Can't shoot if it's the wrong foot, doesn't fully commit to going past someone if he figures he'll lose out. When he's on a roll he's pretty good though. Nothing wrong with his ability.
