Perhaps the sharper movement and options provided by Cazorla and Arteta and even the wing forwards helped, but he definitely carried the ball with purpose yesterday, and even though he was caught in possession once or twice, was quicker and sharper with his ball release.
Not your average Diaby performance by any means.
Or it could simply be game time?
This isn't Diaby's only good performance, he has put in similar performances in the past and generally they come about in his 3rd/ 4th/ 5th game in succession. Then he gets injured again. We simply can't underestimate the effect that playing time has and Abou has lost so much of it when he really should have been developing these aspects of his game which are his weaknesses. Not every good player has vision and awareness naturally, some develop it to a decent level and Diaby has never had that opportunity.
He can be a real asset if he can last a season.
