Liverpool may not win tonight but they are giving their damn hardest to do so.
Like Milan last night they are playing to their history and using their past to overcome tonight's adversity. These conditions are in their dna. They have so many reference points which I am not surprised by their application tonight.
Thats why we should not give up on the second leg. Because if we can somehow come back it will be a rich chapter created in our European football psyche and something that can be used for future years and challenges.
Both Milan and Liverpool are lesser quality than us and in both of their respective games faced a harder up hill struggle than we did against Bayern but both can still go through at the time of writing. Just shows how important belief is. Passion over tactics. Heart over skill. Will power over adversity.
But aside from playing to your history is that have to want it, no matter form and your conditions. In a cup competition anything can happen, we really missed a trick on Tue night I feel.
Even for a one off cup game we could not get ourselves up for it or shall I say the manager failed to do his job properly, again.
But the beauty of football is that new culture and a new history can be created in one game.
Lets go to Bayern and beat them by 3 goals, nothing is impossible.
