No way should Cazrola be moved, far too influential in the middle. Play Jack on the wings, it's where he started out anyway.

I think Jack will play at the right side of attack. More interesting is Oxlade's position IMO but we can only get an idea once we know Jack is back up to speed and his agility isn't affected...if it is, that's a massive problem. Cross that bridge when, I suppose.

Now people are suggesting to move Cazorla from his best position centrally to the wings, or that Wilshere should also move from his best position in CM to the wings as well 😆

This is what you get when you have a little bit of options centrally. People gets greedy and want to accomodate everybody into the lineup, out of position.

Cry about it to Arsene. Im just predicting what I think Arsene is thinking. Jack is a kid who has played only one full season. He doesn't have a fixed position yet. It's not like we'd be asking a striker to play left back. Jack did use to play right mid. Think his skill set might be suited to that. But like Cazorla, the Wilshere of 10-11 could be dropped in any creative position and he'll do well.

Cazorla would be brilliant on the right wing for us, make no mistake about it. That's where he's likely to end up too when Jack is back. Easiest way to accomodate all of them.

Jack is beyond playing out wide, he's a central player and I'm not even of the camp he is a number 10. Jack for me should be playing in midfield keeping our game ticking over. Diaby's performance on Sunday was nothing short of what we'd expect from Jack in that position. And for me, Jack is a far better player. Given the opportunity, he'd surpass Diaby but I reckon I see Wenger finding a way to shoehorn them both into the same lineup despite the redundancy or the holes it's create elsewhere in our game.

Think we're going to see 433 (at least, the version of it that we've played the past 3 seasons) phased out a little. We already saw it against Liverpool, when we packed the centre, with Podolski pushed further back and closer to the middle than I expected - kind of looked like a 4411, with Cazorla playing the Ozil role, always receiving balls in channels and pockets of space. I think Jack will go back in midfield, where Oxlade was (more right midfielder than right winger).

The great thing about his return will be that extra quality in depth. It'll be easier to play around with the midfield and front three. I've alway thought that Wilshere's eventual role will be the number 10/AM role. But having Cazorla means we don't have to throw him in and expect him to perform for 90 minutes two times a week. Ease him back. Both he and Cazorla are very versatile players and they will be better off with eachother to play with regardless of their respective positions.

I suspect that if all stay fit(big if of course), eventually we will see Wilshere in the attacking midfield role with Cazorla out wide. Wenger has already said that 3 strikers up front doesn't work and he wants one creative wide player.

i'm hoping he'll come back centrally. i feel cazorla can be just as effective floating around as part of the front 3 as he is in the middle. theo and gervais will need to work hard to win a starting berth back.

I don't see why it would be any less possible than a Cazorla-Arteta-Diaby midfield. It will just be significantly shorter which could be a factor against certain teams.

But if Diaby manages to stay fit, he will play.

I don't see why it would be disastrous, since Jack's no slouch defensively, but it seems likely to invite thuggery from the usual suspects.

Guaranteed midfield starters: Arteta
Midfield options: Diaby, Jack, Cazorla, Ox, Ramsey

Guaranteed wide forward starters: Podolski
Wide forward options: Ox, Theo, Gervinho, Cazorla, Jack

Way I see it the lineup where we have Diaby and Jack or Cazorla in midfield, and Podolski plus Jack or Cazorla at wide forward is quite balanced, and gives us the option of pulling a high impact substitute off the bench.

If you select Cazorla and Jack in midfield, you have a very diminutive lineup, and your best remaining starting option at RF is probably Ox, who is still a less polished option than either.

In practice, Wenger's going to select the midfield we saw against Liverpool for big matches until one of them breaks down, but that's quite likely to happen sooner or later. Wilshere should have several outings as a sub before he starts again ...

This really does seem a decent to very good lineup based on what we saw at the weekend:

Szczesny
Sagna Kos Verm Gibbs
Arteta Diaby
Cazorla
Wilshere Giroud Podolski

Bench: Mertesacker Santos Walcott Ox Ramsey Coquelin GK

Jack's precise passing could definitely help unlock Giroud's scoring potential.
Gibbs and Podolski are already developing an understanding.
Good impact and cover off the bench.

I'm not a great believer in the Mert-plus-whoever-is-more-balanced theory of our central defence. Koscielny shades him as a better defender and is wasted on the bench.

It's a shame that we don't have a top, top CF in there, plus with a somewhat slower player like Wilshere (or Santi) out wide we'd have to get used to holding it up and coming back inboard when we went on the attack on that side, similar to when Nasri played there.

Been a long long while since there's been an English flair player. Rooney, while certainly skillful, isn't really so flashy.

Im really against all this speculation as to where will Jack play when he comes back, that should really be the least of our worries. The guy has been out for huge period of time and I can't see him playing a pivotal role in our campaign this season. These circumstances at such a young age, mentally he would be all over the shop and this will reflect in his football.

Our goal this year should be just to get him some consistent football no matter where he plays and lessen the expectation around him as much as possible. I imagine we will not be seeing some consistent footballing strides in Jacks development to around the middle of next season and thats without any further injury lay offs.

I think very highly off him but at the same time think he has fallen victim to the Arsenal fans tendency to over-rate players who have had injury lay-offs.
