More sense to R.Madrid to send him to them as he will get games, realistically they aren't going to make the top 4 so they can get him back more easily. At Arsenal he is going to play CL football, more likely that will still be the case next season so he might not want to go back to R.Madrid.

As soon as Wilshere comes back, you're going to show a preference for playing someone who'll definitely be here next year over someone who won't. And god knows how long it'd take Sahin to settle anyway.

I like him, I think he's very gifted, but if Real are refusing a purchase option it suits them & him far more for him to go to 'Pool.

Aye, it makes a lot of sense for Real to loan him without a buy-out clause.

If he has a great season, they can take him back or sell him for a much larger fee. If he doesn't, they'd probably still get as much as the reported buy-out.

Makes me very pessimistic about this transfer happening.

If Liverpool really are back, we'll cave and accept Madrid's terms. I don't think Sahin will have changed his mind, if anything he'll be pleased that we're so keen on keeping him.

If we don't get Sahin what are the odds that Wenger sticks with our current crop of midfielders and gambles on Wilshere being available from October onwards?

Or will who just pick up M'vila who seems likely to stay at Rennes rather than go to Spurs if we don't make an offer?

Given those options I'm hoping hard that we hang in there for Sahin.

He needs time to work his way back to full match fitness.

im not worried about depth - if we get to a point where we have to play aneke or eisfeld (who im told will be same or better than gotze) id still be happy

the only players who i do not want to see play any part in the first team are chamakh, squillaci, bendtner and jenkinson

i'm not worried about depth, i'm worried about quality. still too many average players and not enough quality players in this squad to win pl or cl.

And Mourinho himself said yesterday that he didn't care if Sahin went to Arsenal, Liverpool or Spurs.....

Basically nobody but those directly involved know what's really going on here and everyone else is just putting their own spin on it.

Think Ricky's right though - should be sorted one way or another once the Modric situation is made clear and official.

I think they have a pretty good idea actually, given that two big clubs are involved and Madrid don't seem to be particularly bothered who knows, there's a good chance that the journos have been allowed to get an overall picture.
