Horrible performance.

He works well with a big calm partner, but for some reason when he plays next to someone his own height he's rubbish. Remember he was good alongside Djourou 2 years ago.

Mertesacker - Vermaelen is our best partnership. Stick to it, Wenger.

And honestly if we want to rotate maybe we should rotate Vermaelen with Kos and Mertesacker with Djourou. Height is vital.

Very poor from him today. I thought TV was poor as well.

Wenger should have either kept the CB's from the City game or dropped Kos.

He's a great player but he needed a run of lesser teams before these big tests. Wengers cares too much about what defenders to in the opposition half. Los scored last week so kept his spot, his pass to aguero should have seen him dropped. It's the same nonsense that had galas in the side for so long.

Kos' goal has little to do with it. Wenger rates Kos as our best CB and Vermaelen is captain. Simple logic. Made no sense to make Vermaelen captain though, he's not a leader and he's not one of our 2 best CBs.

What crap? Vermaelen makes a mistake and he is crucified. Koscielny makes 3 in a week and he's the best CB in the club.

Picking captains has never been one of Wenger's strong points, has it.

I think it had more to do with Wenger wanting Kos rather than Per up against Hazard. That type of thinking isn't all that crazy, but it destabilized our defense. Keepting the Kos-Per partnership from last week would have been fine. But Per should have played.

I actually thought Kos could have done with a game during the week to up his sharpness and I was a bit surprised he didn't play against Coventry. Although I can understand that too. Miquel and Djourou need to be thrown a bone once in a while.

Koscielny was poor against City too but today he was truly horrible.

No reason he should play ahead of the other two.

Calm down. It was one shit game he shouldn't have started. TV hasn't been great lately either giving away a needless penalty against Montpellier and that freekick today for no reason. They're both a bit all over the place. Need discipline.

Per deserves credit though. For now it should be Per + 1 going forward.

Until he proves he can play without averaging 1 shocking moment per game I am going to refer to him as SenderosII.

I think the criticism of Kos is over the top, obviously the communication is not there with the goalkeeper that was evident in both goals.
For the 1st the marking wasn't great but it was in an area where the goalkeeper should command.
For the 2nd it is clear that the defenders don't have confidence in Mannone and Koscielny's instinct was to clear it.

I'm starting to dislike Mannone, he reminds me of Almunia staying on his line refusing to take control of his area preferring to be reactive instead of proactive.

Reminded me strongly of the time Wenger dropped an in form Djourou for Koscielny and Squallaci two seasons ago when we lost to Spurs.

I don't blame him for the second goal though, could happen to anyone. Vermaelen was at fault there - forever AWOL.
