Kocienly has a do or die attitude and I think at times overly aggressive trying to win the ball back, he needs to realise sometimes he isn't going to win the ball back but still goes in and takes the player, the ball and any surrounding players!

Also nearly gave away a penalty against Augero, if he had taken a tumble rather than trying to shoot Koscienly was in trouble

Personally I don't mind that attitude at all, from both Vermaelen and Koscielny, particularly given the number of centre backs we've had over the years that just wait for the ball to fall to them before they react.

Of course they'll get caught out a few times and look bad but that's why everyone's talking up the Mertesacker + one partnership.

No such thing as an "overly aggressive" center half.
Kos is just fine.

He does get booked often but his tackling isn't particularly aggressive. The risk occurs when he tries to push forward and nick the ball before the striker gets it.

You must be thinking of Vermaelen, who has already conceded a penalty (Montpellier) cutting down an opponent who was heading away from goal.

Both as bad as each other I think, which is why Mertesacker compliments them well, he looks awkward as fuck but has a good reading of the game.

Nah, he's overrated by the rest of 'em. We all think Kos is better.
