😆

There's no point comparing market value, those things are determine by a whole host of factors of which raw ability is one.

But the overarching point that we shouldn't sign young players because someone of them piss off (which is a trend you'll find if they were over 22 as well) is just stupid. Obviously we should look to sign experience players as well but that's not in contention. If you find a good player, you sign him. Whatever the age.

And playing for a club that just got relegated doesn't tarnish Niang by association, it's a particularly narrow minded view given that we have two players at the club who've spent most of their career in the lower leagues. You judge players on his own merits, not some heuristic fallacy.

Quite gutted we can't get him because by all accounts he is a huge talent. More talented than Lukaku for those who saw both of them. Similar players

Happy to go with Wenger here. If he's seen him up close for a week in training and isn't doing everything he can to sign the kid then he's likely not a nailed on star.

Doubt this. Personally, I didn't hear too much about this guy, but in comparison, there was quite a bit of much ado about nothing when Lukaku first 'showed up'. Mostly due to his physical attributes, mind.

To be fair, he's been a 'name' for a while, which is quite remarkable at 17.

Everton are interested in Niang, and he's off to have a look around their facilities and meet Moyes this week, whilst they "ponder" a bid. City and Spurs still reportedly yet to make a bid, Milan have their loan bid on the table and we've not improved enough on our initial offers to sort a deal. If he ends up at Everton, then he's not the talent he was talked about being.

Wenger would have signed him by now if he really wanted him.

Everton isn't surprising, really. Their youth setup is up there with the best in the country, if not the best. Very good scouting network as well. £7M is too steep I'd say, especially when we should be in the market to bring in a nailed on first team striker.

V good signing for them methinks

Does that mean they won't go for Bendtner?! :o

Bit of a shame - we might have missed a trick here, though I don't know enough about him.
