Is there any chance we can stop quoting twitter in the transfer threads?

Sorted.

There isnt any difference between twitter rumours and some of articles that pop up on newsnow.

True.
It could be possible that one day one of these twitterers might be somebody on the inside.
They could remain anonymous and provide some excellent info, though I guess their identity would be fairly evident to everyone else with insider knowledge.
We need a renegade.

if you take them as anything more than fodder until actual quotes appear then you deserve whatever torture you put yourself in dreaming of the infinite, and frankly unrealistic, possibilities. the way we've handled transfers even reading them is probably a fools errand.

Exactly. All these people tweeting are either football writers for the papers or bloggers. So its ok to quote blogs and papers but not if the same guy tweets it. Nonsense.

Its all bullshit really. May as well ban the papers too.

You can attach some credibility to papers or journos, at least they would be the kind of people who would have ITK contacts.

Not really. Football writers constantly make shit up just to sell papers.

Well, they're more likely to be correct than a spotty teenager with an iphone.

I'm not interested in debating which is better, they both send out scraps for fans to fight over but, if you look over at the Podolski thread, the opening post cited the Metro who happened to get the transfer fee bang on as well. You're never going to get that with twitter.

They'll also just re-print what most of these spotty teenagers tweet anyway.

Some El Mundo journo has apparently tweeted that we're signing Llorente

Would prefer martinez or muniain if we're raiding bilboa.

rvp would certainly be off if we're in for llorente. hope it's not true

'Canal+ are now reporting that Montpellier have accepted an £8.5m bid + Chamakh for Oliver Giroud.'
