Well at the end of the day they're all just players, they'll strut and fret their hour on the stage and leave behind an impression.
Regardless of the manner of their leaving you'll get an almost 100% positive impression for the likes of Seaman Adams Wright Vieira Bergkamp Pires & Henry etc from fans, but a much more mixed one for Fabregas.

Let's face it, it takes a special type of martyr to inspire love and happy nostalgia in the fans of an unsuccessful side. Fabregas is not that.
Fair play to all of you for disliking Fabregas because of the way he left, it did leave a sour taste in my mouth also.
I absolutely adored Fabregas when he was here, my most favorite player from the last 7 years just ahead of RVP.
The only person that has left us in the last 7 years that I just cannot stand would be Adebayor for that stamp he did on Van Persie at the Etihad a few seasons back.
We never really wanted Flamini to stay until he had that great season. It's our own fault that we lost the best best left back in the world in Ashley Cole (I still miss him)
I pity Gallas because he's stuck playing for that shower of shite.
The rest of them are just whatever
Players come and go all the time because at the end of the day the majority of them don't love the club or feel any sort of loyalty towards the club so a player who begins to whore himself out to the Man City's and Barcelona's of this world is just showing his true colours.

I don't know about that, I think there's a much more lukewarm sentiment towards Vieira. Incredible player but I think a lot of fans wouldn't put him in the same bracket as the others in terms of 'Arsenalness'.
I find it funny to see the amount of hate poured on Barca in some quarters while Madrid get off; I remember when I first started posting online it was Madrid who were absolutely despised for their fucking ridiculous annual pursuit of Vieira (which he did very little to discourage and didn't have the excuse of being from Madrid) and later Henry. Reading the forum lately you'd swear it never happened and that Jose's lot are the jedi of la liga.
Mostly I think Cesc was unlucky with us in that he was born 6 or 7 years too late.

Everyone gets what they deserve in the end.

Thats true, but at least with Vieira we certainly got our moneys worth out of him and he was past his best when he left (same with Henry).
I feel we were cheated with Fabregas (like Cole).
You are correct, Madrid were the despised Galacticos, like the MOM robot corporation, some enormous leviathan going around hoovering up everything.
But in the intervening years Barcelona have taken over from them, they've humiliated us many times and we've a score to settle with them.
Barcelona are the new Madrid.
Tempus Fugit and things change, I don't really hate Chelsea anymore and I can't quite hate City yet, so it's reassuring that some things never change and our hatred of Utd is always there like some comfortable old pair of shoes.
I hope we never have to pay for all the pain and suffering we've heaped on Tottenham these past 100 years.
I think the preference for Madrid over Barcelona just stems from the fact that some posters on here have a weird man crush on Jose Mourinho, despite him being the single biggest cunt in world football.
He is very dashing.
Hey! whats wrong with cunts?
Tim; on careful reflection I think it's a footballistic form of Stockholm Syndrome.
Jose looks a bit wasted these days, not quite dashing.

But surely it's Wenger who's our captor?
I'm pretty sure you've diagnosed that one as battered wife syndrome.

So you don't like the person, hated the style of play we had when he was here, hated that it was based around him, you're well documented on your feelings of the lack of success during his time as a focal point of the team, hate his connection to Barcelona, hate Barcelona the club, the Spanish in general, hate anyone with black hair and tanned skin who look vaguely Spanish, and the fact he eventually went to Barcelona after much speculation.
So what exactly is it you feel cheated about?
I think he means we were cheated in the transfer deals we got for both players.
Cesc was majorly undervalued
Cole was Chelsea's biggest transfer coup in the last decade, got the best left back in the world while significantly weakening their rivals
Cole resulted in us getting Gallas. I felt a bit cheated at the time by the terms of the deal, but looking back I'm not that fussed about it. We swapped one greedy self centred ego driven cunt for another.
As for Fabregas, if Biggus' previous comments on him and Barcelona are anything to go by, we got a great deal.
It's not like any of Cole's replacements have been better than him.
Losing Cole significantly weakened our defense and the entire left side of our team.
Imagine if we had Cole and Sagna as our full backs.
No thanks
