It's not like Per hasn't hade any mistakes this season. He's made a lot of them and a few has led to us conceding stupid goals. It's also something that comes with the job.

I definitely wouldn't say Per's made "a lot" of mistakes Klausy. I can remember one bad one against Norwich and I think one against Chelsea (I certainly don't count his injury against Sunderland as a mistake). In fact, one could probably argue he's made fewer mistakes than any of our other centre backs this season.

His last couple of games before he injured himself he was starting to look really good IMO.

Let´s put it this way - his first season in the PL has easily been better than Koscielny´s first season was.

But Koscielny hit greater heights like the Barcelona game while Mertesacker's been a 7/10 with an occasional poor outing.

I'm not convinced Mertesacker will be ever be first choice but with the number of injuries we have and the difficulty in getting all our defenders to hit form at the right time I doubt Wenger will ever have a problem.

Absolutely. Koscielny has been the second best defender in the league this season for me. Brilliant.

Big Per is a 7/10 in terms of his individual performances, but I think he is a good organiser and is a good influence off the pitch. Perfect squad member really.

Been the best for me

Watch him not make PL Team of the Season. Watch.

It's hard to argue with Kompany as best defender this year. He and the injured Vidic are a cut above the competition.

I suspect that based on their recent run, United players like Scholes and Ferdinand will make premier league team of the year ahead of Arteta and Koscielny.

Kompany has been good but wasn't that impressed with his distribution on Sunday

I thought Kompany was immense on Sunday Dules. But you were at the game so obviously got a better view than me.

Kompany was easily the best Man City player on Sunday.

That's not saying much tho.

He was good but not immense.

Built like a tank mind.

I think he's a bit overrated. He's integral to City but nowhere near world class for the most part. He's mostly been bigged up for the past two seasons because the usual suspects have been injured or underperforming. He's got a very defensive-minded midfield in front of him too. It's easier being Kompany than it is being Koscielny.

Think Kompany is top class myself, but I will try and watch him a bit closer next time City are on the telly. Maybe I've bought in to the hype a little.

He isn't overrated, he's one of the two best players at a team who have lead the league for most of the season. City are much better when he plays irrespective of the others they have or their tactics and that is as sure a sign of his quality as you can get.

One of the two best? The other being Yaya, yes?
