Not that you don't know it, but Vieira was seriously underrated by being labelled just an enforcer. Was probably one of the most complete CMs in history. He had everything. Power, pace, strength, guile, creativity, flair.
I was watching these two videos the other day which shows those who may be unaware how much more Vieira was, first one from just the 98/99 season the second his overall time.
So many moments of pure skill and technique coupled with his ball winning strengths. He had that ability to win the ball back, before dribbling past or flicking the ball over a few peoples heads before launching a quick counter attack all in the space of a couple seconds. Complete joke when he used to be compared, at times unfavourably to that clogger Keane.
After Thierry, he was probably my joint second favourite player alongside Dennis those days.
